    Hey

    I was wondering what the best pre tournament meal is, is it Carbs like a Marathoner, or something else?

    Also what is the best snack to eat durring tournaemnts to ensure that you have the energy to stay competative all day.

    Similar question: tournaments are tough places for “optimal” dieting. Therefore, given the demands of a tournament (high activity from early on, interspersed with periodic lulls), and the schedule (games all day, early games prevent too large of a breakfast, only large meal opportunity at dinner), and especially given that most teams will be eating out at some restaurant on both Friday & Saturday nights, what would be a good meal plan for the tourney, including best items at a restaurant, best snacks, etc.?

    And to further elaborate, can you include some vegan/veggie ideas for those of us of that persuasion?

    Also, is there optimal timing for food and water before and after games?

    What is your take on powerade and similar drinks? Can you suggest a way boost hydration without consuming all that sugar? I find it gives me a nasty energy low pretty quickly – not good mid-game. I’m particularly interested in this because I get heat stroke very easily. I drink as much water as I can, but I’m wondering if there’s anything else I can be doing on that front.

    Also looking for vegetarian options for optimal diet. Preferably low hassle as well, constantly hectic schedules don’t make for having lots of prep time.
